Pete, My son is the peanut allergy that I am usually raising a concern for and we are not going on this trip....but I wish we were, the food sounds great. (I still sneak peanuts when I have time to brush my teeth before I pickup my son)

Here is a pic of the cap boot I remember my dad's friend having on his truck.  it was somehow "glued" to the cab of the truck.

They sell a rubber boot that will seal the cab to the cap and you can have just 1 pane of glass for the cab there.  On my Tundra the entire rear pane of glass slides down so you can open the entire rear which is cool.  If you max out the AC I'm sure you can cool the bed of the truck or do the same with the heat.

It was an enjoyable weekend and Saturday turned out beautiful.  Thank you Barb and Gary for loaning me a 20# propane tank when I ran out on Friday and couldn't cook and thank you Winter for going for a ride on Saturday and showing me where I could fill up my propane tanks.

I was reading the instructions on my ice cream only makes 1 quart and the container must be frozen before I start to make it.....If the container fits in my camper freezer I will be able to make enough for 2 spoonfulls each  :-\ My sister has another ice cream maker that makes a larger quantity that I will look into.  Otherwise I may have to change my pot luck contribution from ice cream to something else.

Nathan has discovered the game clue so I can assure you we will have the game at our site and he will be willing to play with anyone at anytime if anyone would like to join.  I think professor Plumb did it in the observatory with the rope  ;D

I can put 3 kayaks on my roof and 2 in the bed  for 5 easily.  I will have only 2 kayaks for Nathan and I and Lori's inflatable which we can blow up at the launch.  Maybe we can bring it to 7 if we stack 2 more in the bed.

I'd say we need water to drink and other basic beach stuff, sunglasses, hat, sun tan lotion, etc.

I have a table and for the pot luck I think I will bring soft serve ice cream.  I have had an ice cream maker that I got for Christmas....I think it is about time I figure out how it works and if I commit to it here it will force me to read the instructions and buy the ingredients.  I'll bring cones, chocolate syrup, and either sprinkles or jimmies.

I started in a coleman Columbia as well.  It worked good for DW and I.....I don't think Nathan even saw that one.  I know I camped with my nephew Evan in it when he was like 4 in the pouring rain.

So who all is in for Tubing/kayaking?  I'm in with Lori and Nathan but I think we'll do it in our kayaks since we already own them and they may be a little more comfortable.

10 days away!!!  I just printed out that tubing info to read up on and show Lori.  I think it would be fun and enjoyable.

Hello, welcome.

The bed weight limits are usually very high....800+ #'s or something crazy.  There is a section on the website (don't remember where) where you can find old brochures and usually the specs portion of the brochure will tell you what the beds are rated for.
