If it would stop raining, I could get farther on this mod.  Have pvc cut and fitted.  Have canvas cut andmocked up on rec room floor.  Now need to put it up next to trailer before fine tuning and making final cuts and seams.

Awning material is cut.  Waiting for velcro to arrive.  Have it duct taped in place on the frame.  Will try it on camper Fri. afternoon.

Where did you order the Velcro from?  I love this awning idea and just got PUG's that will need Velcro too.

thingette, were you looking to slide a c-channel over your existing lift bar before adding the awning?

No issues with melting.  I glued the ends of the ones attached to the camper for the back awning and gizmos.

I understand your directions. I am concerned that my uprights won't like the tension and I know that the bottom of the sides can't have screws put in and hold anything (yes, I know, I should fix the roof). I was curious if the long edge of the awning nearest the camper can be fixed to the camper like a regular awning. If so, I need c-channel.

If you are familar with Miller's Service center, an RV repair shop on Rt 322 near Honeybrook, they have lots of old awning supports, rails and such. I picked up some used parts there a month ago.

Actually am going to install velcro under lid of camper and velcro the top of awning to it.  All velcro is being picked up by dear mom at local dry goods store, for 50-75cents less than I can order it bulk online.  I was already there a few weeks ago, and can purchase just the hook or loop and with or without adhesive, in varying widths too.  SO I can really taylor my purchase to my project.    Thanks for the offer of your extra Joe, but I am good to go.  Hang on to it, it's always good for lots of projects.

I was initially looking for c-channel. But after further inspection of the wood under the driver's side, it looks good up at the roof line. I think I'll glue/staple the velcro to it.

Now if my dear sister would just post detailed pictures of her frame that she built for her's I could get this project started.

Hold on to your skirt, I'll get some today :)  She's at work anyway, so not much doing except getting paid to sleep.  ;D
