Hi anyone interested in Trout season opener weekend at Promised Land lower lake or remote Boondocking Delaware State Forest near stocked stream?   I'm kicking around either boat fish Promised Land or boon and put on the waiters for pine flats creek.   Trout fishing is a rite of spring in the Poconos.

New and Pre-Purchase / Canvas camper version 3

Say goodbye to the hybrid.   I have gone back to popup. Bought a 2007  Jayco 1206. No bath/crap in a bucket model super cheap.

Oh how a year can change me.   I was served with divorce, had to foreclose on home (Re-divorce), file chapter 7 (Re-divorce), and bundle the HTT in the Chapter 7.    To add more misery, I  was job less for 9M on an emotional roller coaster.

Enter 2016, new job, child support and no home.  Had to relocate to parent's Stroudsburg, PA home at age  :-X41, and have the kids every Wednesday to Thurs w/ alternating weekends Fri to Mon 65/35 split.
My parents are both 66 years old and live primarily in Calabash, NC.

Salary is high enough to lose $20K off top to ex ARGHHHHHH, and still afford to camp.  Should I dive headfirst  in on a toy hauler popup?

I still have my toys, truck, boat, canoe, bikes etc.   Kids are old enough to bike, still want to camp and I do quite a bit of hunting in the ATV friendly Catskills area.   I do not want to bathe my daughters in comfort stations, and solo camping with daughters can be a challenge to say the least.  I feel that continuing on camping may work wonders on my 4 year old.   She was a tender age 3, losing her stability, room, yards, and ex-wife shacked up with someone else immediately

My previous pup a Flagstaff 625D had a similar box layout with larger couch.   I loved the cassette shower setup but hated the dual drain setup.    Toy hauler secondary functions over ride the negatives on a low wall slideout glamper setup.

Towing / 2002 8.1 Avalanche 4x4 vs 6.0 2004 k2500 suburban
« on: February 09, 2015, 10:59:31 AM »
Hi I might be trading my k2500 suburban with 110k.  6.0. 3.73  4l80  7600lb capacity 2305lbs payload

For

a 2002 8.1 k2500 Avalanche bone stock, new tires   89k 3.73 4l80  11900lb capacity 2000lbs payload

I currently suffer 10 mpg and shoddy tow capacity
I figure dump it for big block 10mpg and increased tow capacity, 5.2 ft bed for a quad.
It's my 3rd vehicle dedicated tow.

I desire to take my quad and htt for solo hunting trips in the adirondacks and northern PA.

I can take a friend for my kids but that's a limited once or twice per season in the sub.

The Avalanche would be my hunting buddy, firewood hauler, family of 4 plus dog tv, boat tow Vehicle, and emergency use.

Am I nuts?

General Campfire Discussion / Got called a Troll on the portal!
« on: May 18, 2011, 10:21:47 PM »
Greetings everyone!
Seems my bashing of CUVs went too far ;).  Was it the constant questions about can a Rav-4 tow this, or was it what can my Element tow?  I contantly stress that 8ft pups (from every manufacturer) now gross out at 2000lb plus and need class 3 hitches, and 3500lb tow ratings whatever.
Time to chill out at the campfire

Campgrounds, State Parks, Etc / Robert Treman State Park NY
« on: January 21, 2011, 11:11:57 AM »
The wife , and I were planning our 5th anniversery 09-03-11 pupping it without our number 01 kiddo.   We were planning to hit the finger lakes, or Adirondaks.   We selected Robert Treman State Park.  I went on Reserve America and was shocked (9 month limit to reserve) and all but 3 were taken.  We reserved a 30ft trailer size, 15A (no ac), and hope we wont need be needing it.    Has any ever camped at Robert Treman?
