Towing / Re: Lubing your ball
« on: September 27, 2011, 06:34:23 PM »
Being raised a country boy, I have a ball on my truck that is probably 30 years old, and I have several other balls that are just as old or older, and to my knowledge, none of them have ever been lubed. I never even considered lubing them, as I agree that I would just end up with the grease all over my clothes. I would also venture to say that none of us will ever use a ball long enough to "wear it out".

What's Cookin / Re: Salt substitute ideas please
« on: January 22, 2011, 10:04:32 PM »
DW and I have used two products since we decided to go saltless...New Salt and No Salt.  Grain for grain, it taste the same to me, and my unknowing friends that would not dare do without salt never said anything when they sprinkled away while at our table. We had No Salt in a regular shaker and No Salt in the Factory package. No one but DW and I knew the difference.

While I usually prefer at least 2 nights I probably would do it for one night if it was close by. I dont think I would take much more than a couple hour ride to camp for just one night. I agree its fun, and I agree its a lot of work.

I might be wrong on this, I have been known to be on ocassion, but I am of the opinion that you can cook anything in the DO that you can cook in a regular oven, provided of course, it's small enough to fit into your DO.

What's Cookin / Re: Paper or Plastic?

After setting up camp a couple times and realizing there were no plates left, we started looking at Dollar General type stores for cheap plates and silverware. We now have a set of cast iron fry pans and a couple pots and pans and a couple mixing bowls in the Pup as well. For me, it just seemed simpler to put some dishes in the pup and leave them there rather than to have to remember to bring some. We have never camped with more than DW and I, so dishes for 2 doesn't take up that much room.
