Okay, if I'm counting correctly, that makes 15 for dinner, yes?   :chef:

Pete, My son is the peanut allergy that I am usually raising a concern for and we are not going on this trip....but I wish we were, the food sounds great. (I still sneak peanuts when I have time to brush my teeth before I pickup my son)

Well you're in luck that there won't be any peanuts, just walnuts.  So for anyone who IS attending this rally, please let me know if there are issues with WALNUTS.  I can easily omit them from the brownies and cookies, I just need to know if it's needed.  :chef: :chef:

Okay gang, here is the menu for Saturday evening for 16 people:

Cocktails & Canapes:  Selection of various cheese, grapes, salamis, dips, etc.

Main course:  Chicken Piccata, risotto with peas.

Dessert:  Assortment of Scottish shortbread, chocolate chip pudding cookies, brownies.

Any food allergies I should know about?  For example, the brownies and cookies usually have nuts, but I can omit them if needed.

We'll bring homemade wine for everyone from the vineyard if someone wants to make a good homemade dessert?

If you all are taking me up on the offer for dinner, then I'll take care of dessert too!   :chef:

Hey Gang,

I know it's early, but I'm tossing this idea out there anyway.  It looks like this isn't going to be a large rally, and considering we've missed you guys, how about if we repeat the Tornado dinner of Delaware?  For those of you who haven't heard the story, Phil and I hosted dinner for everyone at a rally at Lums Pond a couple years ago.  It was supposed to be an elegant, outdoor, semi-formal affair.  But we had a wicked thunderstorm pass through that spawned a tornado near by.  So we had 12 people in our pop up camper, and we had the BEST TIME.  We have a much bigger camper now, so  we can accommodate easily.  This time, we'll plan on having it outside, with fine china and the works. No need to dress up though, unless you really want to.  It's also a chance for us to film an episode of my new TV Show, Let's Celebrate, which will be premiering on You Tube very soon.  I would love to cook for you all!!    :chef:

RnR will be bringing Mary Todd Lincoln Cake, supposedly was Abe's favorite.

I'm looking forward to trying that!

Delaware allows alcohol in all campgrounds except for one, Lums Pond.

I'm glad we're not there!!!   :chef:

The Menu:

Cocktails & Conversation
Smokey eggplant & white bean dip w/toasted pita
Shot of roasted carrot soup

Entree

Choice of Grilled Pork Tenderloin with a cranberry/balsamic glaze  OR
Seared scallops with a whole grain mustard sauce

Both served with wilted Swiss chard with lemon and scallions
crusty bread & butter

Dessert
Pete's Chocolate Mousse

We'll be serving "restaurant style".  We'll need to put at least two picnic tables together.  We'll provide the dishes, flatware, etc.

Several of you have offered to bring something, so please bring your appetites, and your favorite wine or other beverage to have with your dinner.  :chef:

Hooray!!!  Okay, a couple of VERY important questions:

1.  Any food allergies/major dislikes I should know about?  (Yes, I saw JoeCamper's response!)

2.  It looks like dinner will be for 8 adults.  Is that correct?  If not, how many and are there and are there any kids involved?  It looks like the chart at the beginning of the thread is missing some info.

Meanwhile I'll start working on the REAL menu, but honestly it will probably be something similar to what I posted earlier. :-)  The difference will be if there are any food restrictions, and what is available as I tend to mostly cook seasonally.   :chef: :chef:
