Is it brand new yet? Tongue Jack Replacement
« on: June 04, 2012, 11:10:06 AM »
As I am slowly replacing every part on my camper until it's brand new, then I'll be ready to sell it and buy a new one.  It was a great weekend camping but when I raised the tongue jack to level the camper... it slowly came back down and would raise again.... broken.  :-[

The jack is welded to the outer frame so I can pull the snap ring, use the existing welded plate and just replace the jack from a local dealer for $69 or buy a new 'bolt on' jack from Harbor Freight for $33.

I've had a Harbor Freight jack on my utility trailer for about 5-6 years now and it's worked flawlessly.

I was able to find an OEM jack for $39 plus shipping.

broken jack
snap ring pliers set
removing snap ring
showing welded plate on camper frame
greased plate and install snap ring to hold new jack in place.

Lone Lock that is EXACTLY what crossed my mind too.

nice job on the jack replacement, that's awesome to be able to just pop a lock ring and change it out
