This is the strangest way I've ever started a group rally but we will be camping the weekend of April 11-13, 2014 in the Pottsville, PA area.  The campground is currently unknown (suggestions welcome) but it will be within 20-30 minutes of Pottsville and hopefully include cabins rentals.

The weekend with include three things:

    [li]Yuengling Light Lager Jogger 5k[/li]
    [li]Trout Season Opening Day[/li]
    [li]Camping and Friends[/li]

You don't run or fish, NO PROBLEM.  Come camp, sit around the fire and enjoy some great food at our potluck dinner.

The reason I'm planning this rally backwards is because if you are interested in participating in the 5K, you need to get on the ball and make your reservation ASAP.  It will be sold out in the next few days.

Woo Hoo, backwards rally! We'll need t-shirts  :thumbsup:  I'm signed up for the Lager Jogger.

Yuengling has it listed as a 5K Run/Walk, so if you don't want to run you can walk it too!

When Peter and I registered for the walk earlier today, they were down to under 700 slots left.

I just checked out Echo Valley Campground and the first picture I saw had 2 class A's parked next to each other with the awning just about touching the neighbor.  I vote no for that one.

Rosemont Camping Resort seems nice $36 per night.  I don't see many pictures however.

Sorry should have elaborated. If I remember it was nice. Maybe the hubby and happy campers remember more. Nice pool. Nice big playground. We were there for a church camping trip
I have heard Christmas pines is nice but have never been there

Rosemont is a nice campground, wooded has some small hills.  But if my memory served me correctly its a dry campground.  I have never been to the others.

I like camp-a-while.  They aren't dry, the campsites seem to be in nicely wooded areas.

Hey, is there an age limit for the run?  I may ask my 16yo nephew if he wants to do it.  I found some reviews of Camp-A-While.  Of course there was some complaints that sound like one of instances.  Many said it was nice with the campsites cut out of the woods.

We signed up for the run. However because of the work schedule (I work Sunday), we may be not able to camp that weekend. We'll see.

The campground within 20 minutes of Pottsville have very bad reviews.  I will be calling Blue Rocks Campground this week to discuss blocking sites for our group. (about 3 miles off route 78) (37 min drive to the jogger)
