Additional information about this rally:
Rally History: This is the 10th year we've had a Thanksgiving Rally with five of the years were at this campground, it's a great place.
Campground: This campground only has 55 sites and the electric sites sell out every year. The camp sites 148 thur 155 are in a open wagon wheel layout with the center site (149) as our gathering site. There is little privacy at these sites but a great time socializing and the kids playing.
Weather: The weather has been pretty consistent over the years with comfortable cooler fall weather during the day and cold nights around a large group campfire.
Gathering Dinner: Our group dinner is Saturday evening and with Marc and many others help, I cook 3 or more turkeys and everyone brings Thanksgiving sides or desserts for a group sit-down meal together. Followed by a large campfire, music and memorable stories.
Area Information: Caledonia is in the northernmost section of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Appalachian National Scenic Trail passes through the park. All sites allow pets and many have electric.

So I just tried to reserve a site and it won't let me. There is this advisory up at the top of the page:
Campground Advisory: Due to a potential campground rehabilitation project, the campgrounds are not avalable for reservations for the 2016 season. Once the project is finalized the facilities will be opened for reservations. Please check back for availability. Thank you.
And I specifically put in Caledonia SP with the Hosack Run Campground. Even tried without electric and pets - that's when I saw the notice up top. Guess I will try again later.

I can't attend this rally, but for the heck of it while working on other reservations, I tried the reservation & had no problem. Sites with pet & electric are available. I got all the way to payment info & then I exited.
When sister checked in at Gifford Pinchot State Park, for MemorialDay Weekend, she actually had to Sign a copy of the Rules. (You check mark a little box online when you make a ressie saying you agree to the rules). That's the first time I have ever heard of them having a signed acknowledgement.
I have had them review the rules if I do a phone ressie though, and the make a def point of the no alcohol rule.
It looks like the size of the group is a little smaller than in years past......Any thoughts on trying something other than Turkey this year? Can we cook some hams in the woods?
