Not sure yet what we're cooking, but we'll bring a table too.

I have a table and for the pot luck I think I will bring soft serve ice cream.  I have had an ice cream maker that I got for Christmas....I think it is about time I figure out how it works and if I commit to it here it will force me to read the instructions and buy the ingredients.  I'll bring cones, chocolate syrup, and either sprinkles or jimmies.

I was thinking about running down the road and purchasing buckets of KFC because I (Mike) don't feel like cooking!  Is that allowed?

Certainly! [s]WalMart may be closer (and cheaper, it's $12 for a bucket with two kinds of chicken and a side)[/s]. Walmart only has rotisserie chicken (it's a small walmart). The grocery store right near it or KFC (in front of grocery) will have it. On Rt 83 at Yocumtown Exit. 10-15 minutes from camp ground.

For those that have been to the park are there any secret ways we should be going or not going when following the GPS.

I'm going to be bringing meaty baked beans and not the recalled ones. Lol

tubes or kayaks. ;D  We will have to work out transport the day of float. Drop every one off and then take vehicles to take out point.

No secret ways. Most direct is route 83 to route 177. Then 74 south.

I can put 3 kayaks on my roof and 2 in the bed  for 5 easily.  I will have only 2 kayaks for Nathan and I and Lori's inflatable which we can blow up at the launch.  Maybe we can bring it to 7 if we stack 2 more in the bed.

I'd say we need water to drink and other basic beach stuff, sunglasses, hat, sun tan lotion, etc.

For tubing, a tube or kayak, or raft. It is a little rocky so pool inflatables may not make it all the way. But then again, sometimes they do.  A hat, sunscreen, water shoes or old sneakers. NO barefeet or flip flops please.  You could fish as you go, it is stocked trout stream, but doubtful on catching with a group in the water.

There is no electric outlets at the launch. Just so you plan ahead for inflation needs.

We will bring some flank steak and maybe some fruits or veggies.

So when exactly is the tubing?  Also, is the waterway going to be low and rocky?  Trying to determine if we will be joining.

My goal in life is to be the person my dog thinks I am.

it is definitely not going to be low. We are going to check it Thursday for level to make sure its not to high and fast. tubing is as simple as sitting the tube and floating down stream. with maybe some extra curricular water splashing.

Well, I just got the call from the dealer. A new AC unit is on order, but won't arrive until the end of the wk. So, I will be releasing my site tonight. If anyone is interested in a FHU pet site, pass the word.

Sorry to miss this trip, as we haven't been to Pinchot in years, but right now it's more important to get the trailer fixed with our 6 day vacation coming up at the end of next wk. We plan on biking & kayaking, but can't leave the dogs in a hot trailer while we do that.

My friend and I bought tubes a few years ago.  It turned out the nearby river was a terrible idea, and our butts kept hitting rocks and we had to walk through a few places.  BUT we were both happy with these rafts.  It has a plastic mesh bottom, so you're still cooled by the water but we felt like it protected our bottoms when we went over rocks.
If you get this raft make sure you put your name on it.  I call dibs on all unmarked ones 😛

Tristan and I will be floating down the river on tubes, but may also bring a kayak or two for the lake.

Hi Everyone,
Are we having a potluck dinner Saturday night? We've missed the last rally or 2 and are trying to catch back up.
Thanks. Lisa & Bill Thomas  :chef:
