We'll bring homemade wine for everyone from the vineyard if someone wants to make a good homemade dessert?

If you all are taking me up on the offer for dinner, then I'll take care of dessert too!  :chef:

So what is the charge for this wonderful picnic for my tastebuds? And let us know if we should bring something.

Hi my August kid shuffling has been straightened out.  Ill have my girlfriend and her never camping before 11 year old daughter that is scared of ticks and bears for this adventure.  Canoe is going, and Ill probably bring the child's bike.  For pot luck foods are we going to formalize the menus for Thurs to Sunday or just plan a big meal for Saturday night?  It appears to fairly remote up there and no Wally World on every corner lol.

Walmart is closer than you think. 20 minutes and less than 10 miles. in 15 years I have never seen a bear there, that said this will be the first time.
This year ticks are almost a given even in the cities. Great place to be to just enjoy and let everything sort itself out.

I'm located in NEPA with loads of bears, ticks, bobcats and fishers.  The 11 year old is scared of them all.  We have been busy getting ready for archery season and have many bear on camera, and have been pounced on by a bobcat.  Just a short 18 miles from Promised land is our honey hole for hunting. I only wanted to know if we needed to pack a ton of food, drive 3 hours, and then an hour to Wally.  Yes, its a ride to one if your at Promised Land (options are drive to Mt Pocono, East Stroudsburg, or Hawley.

Pathwacker: normally, we would have loads of kids at a rally. This one seems to be kid free for most of us, and much smaller. Normally, Saturday pot luck is the only semi-organized food that is done. This time we just need to bring ourselves and maybe a little cash to cover the cost of Saturday night dinner as ChefPete and Phil are cooking for all of us. They are tremendous hosts and love to cook and entertain.

Chiefbowes and I are not sure if we are bringing Kayaks or bikes, yet. Might go pretty minimal since it is a short trip and it's just the two of us this time.

Okay gang, here is the menu for Saturday evening for 16 people:

Cocktails & Canapes:  Selection of various cheese, grapes, salamis, dips, etc.

Main course:  Chicken Piccata, risotto with peas.

Dessert:  Assortment of Scottish shortbread, chocolate chip pudding cookies, brownies.

Any food allergies I should know about?  For example, the brownies and cookies usually have nuts, but I can omit them if needed.

Pete, My son is the peanut allergy that I am usually raising a concern for and we are not going on this trip....but I wish we were, the food sounds great. (I still sneak peanuts when I have time to brush my teeth before I pickup my son)

Well you're in luck that there won't be any peanuts, just walnuts.  So for anyone who IS attending this rally, please let me know if there are issues with WALNUTS.  I can easily omit them from the brownies and cookies, I just need to know if it's needed.  :chef: :chef:

There are one or two electric sites available for this rally weekend but they won't last long.

Site 60 - electric, no pet and Site 92 electric/pet

Good news, my wife will be coming up on Saturday morning to join in on the fun for the weekend.  Hope this doesn't mess up the count for dinner  :chef:

Okay, if I'm counting correctly, that makes 15 for dinner, yes?  :chef:
