Our pup doesn't have a furnace we use a buddy heater if we camp with out hookups. When we camp with hook ups we use a ceramic electric heater.

There's probably multiple conversations on here addressing that.

It was suggested to me to use an electric heater, and turn the furnace to low so it's just a backup.  There's not a lot of sense using your propane if you have electric already paid for.  Someone also suggested running a separate electric cord from the outside box as not to trip the converter.  I can say first hand (multiple times) they're right, It's quite easy to trip my converter breaker  ::)

We use an electric heater when plugged in.  And we use a Mr Heater when off the grid.

Electric heat plugged into the air conditioner 20A circuit with shore power.
Had two at one time but down to just one.
PU's furnace without shore power.

We use the Mr. Big Buddy when camping off grid along with the campers heater:

I have an oscellating electric heater to 'maintain' temps so I don't use as much propane as the furnace only kicks on when temps drop (or my idiots don't close the door completely).

I do carry a sportscat heater and tank in the event it might be needed (power outage and/or sustained high winds that suck out the heat).

Ceramic heater preferably oscillating. Just used two with one plugged into a separate extension cord from the site's pedestal. Once the camper got up to temp the furnace hardly ever ran.

Using one now to warm the camper while we clean.
