I was at Home Depot over the weekend and saw the Mr. Buddy Heater.  It looks like a good source for heat but I'm not sure about ventilation and safty?  Do people use them in campers or are they just for homes?

The buddy heater is very common for campers to use.  It can be used with a 1lb propane tank or you can buy a hose to attach to a 20lb bottle.  They are probably one of the best sources of heat when boonbocking (no electric)

The only thing that I don't care for with them is that there isn't a thermostat so if it gets to hot in the middle of the night, it doesn't shut off.  They don't come with a built in ignitors so turning off and on isn't easy.

My Mr. Buddy has a push button ignitor like a grill that lights a pilot light. Have they possibly made upgrades over the years?  I got mine last year

I haven't used it overnight yet (I will in January) but I would think I could just turn it down to pilot overnight when it gets to hot and then if someone(DW) gets up and its cold they could turn it to low without the click click click of the ignitor.
