Tried to light the fridge today so it could get cold for the trip. Burned funny (flame too wide, more yellow than blue). Then it started burning back at the edge of the burner box where there are 3 holes in the tube. It did it pretty consistently.

Looking for answers on the forums didn't work as the great tutorial Digger had posted (on another forum) didn't have pictures anymore (dang WebShots!).

Off to YouTube for answers! has a decent tutorial. It took longer to get the screws out of the pieces I had to work with (the hardest being a screw I could have left alone  >:().

I got quite a bit of ash out of the burner tube, took a little steel wool to the rust at the burner end (very lightly).

Put it back together and it works GREAT!! Dropped temp of fridge 10 degrees in just under an hour  😀

Find a florist they have really long and stiff pipe cleaners. Run one thru the tube mine had spider webs in it. Gary

Just found out today while surfing the Norcold website, that my fridge has a recall. Dealer will do the labor for free and the part is free. Hoping that fixes the problem.

This weekend would not keep temperature on propane (my fuel of choice for fridge) after about 24 hours in the safe range. Warmed up to 51 degrees and stayed there for another 24 hours. Warmed up even more on electric. And didn't keep cold at all on 12V when trailering.  🙁

That model fridge wont run on 12 volt. Neither will mine.  When in transit, run it on propane.  Once at sight can turn it off and plug into land line.  There is no auto switch over.  If you want propane on , you have to light it.  If you want to use electric, you have to turn the knob to electric and the propane will go out.  Good luck with recall part, hope it is the solution.
