Very good advice!

I never exchange cylinders. Our PUP came with dual tanks, neither having a plastic wrap around the tank, and I just get them refilled at the local Ace Hardware at a little over half the cost of exchanging tanks with one of the popular brands. One local LP supplier occasionally runs a coupon to refill a tank for $8.00. I always hope for an empty tank when that coupon appears!

I never exchange propane tanks either.
Cheaper and safer to have them filled..
Besides that exchanged tank that there might be a problem with is usually under your bunk end. 😮
At least I know how mine has been taken care of...

Plain ole rain can get behind the wrapper.

It doesn't take sub zero temp in the cylinder to cause condensation, just below the local dew point, this can certainly happen with high BTU use and/or when the cylinder is nearing empty.

If the contents of the cylinder ever gets to -44F, there will be zero pressure in the cylinder.

Frost (frozen condensation) is common on my 1 lb bottles when less than 1/4 full.
