After 13 years and over 170 camping trips, I finally installed a digital thermostat in the camper last evening.  The factory one was hidden under the table bench, hard to turn on and off, and you could never see what the current temp was at the time.  If it was cold, we bumped it up and if we woke in the middle of the night with it 85 and our eyes dried shut, we bumped it down.  Mod that was way over do.
