The freezer in our camper makes ice.
Can make 4 trays of ice in about 8 hours.
If I made the cubes smaller I could probably make them quicker but I like the cubes bigger.
Although, now that I think about it, I would like to find the trays that make a bunch of little cubes like they have in some fountain drinks.
A bunch of pea size cubes would be good too. ;D
I am of no help in looking for an ice maker.
we bought a reman icemaker from Best Buy.com (not available in stores). Took about 12 days to arrive via UPS. It is an "Emerson". Makes lots of ice. Wife like the small cubes. The "freezer" or storage space is not cooled (except by the ice). What ice melts in storage will melt into the water tray and will be recycled back in to cubes.
Only real complaint is--the cubes dont last long in the drink. In other words, they melt down quick. I cant imagine life without this thing now.
TIP---if you must have your drinks iced down for longer periods of time. Make the large size cubes. Then empty tray in to a bag and place in freezer. Then use the ice from the freezer.
