I used it for my New Year's trip, especially since they were having an odd booking issue with the New Year minimum stay requirements. In the end, I had to book more nights than I wanted, but with the 50% promo, it came out even for me.

Was this only valid for a little while? I just tried to book for the Thanksgiving rally and it wouldn't work.

Yes, the reservation has to be made by Jan 31, 2017. The stay has to be between Oct 1, 2016 & August 31, 2017.
