Has anyone stayed there, looking to book a site near the island next may with full hookup wonder if anyone has any good campgrounds they stayed at

I haven't. DW has mentioned it to me but we just haven't gotten around to booking anything.....I'm afraid of the mosquito's.

The two private campgrounds right off the island are Frontiertown (recently bought by Sun properties, I think), & Castaways. Both are "resort" places which can be pricey in season, but they have a ton of amenities.

I've stayed at Castaways, visited Frontiertown, & stayed at Assateague Natl Park. We love the area.
