Ok I just camped at Ft Rucker Campground/lehigh-valley-rv-show park.  In the campground there is in outer loop of about 30 campsites.  They have water and electric hook ups but now sewer.  There is a dump station at the entrance to campground.  There is a nice clean bathhouse with a laundry room also.  In the site they have concrete pads.  There are picnic tables and a fire ring.  There is also a lantern pole.  They only way to BBQ is either the grill that goes over the top of the fire ring or you have to bring your own grill.  All sites have walking distance to the water within 5 min walk.

In the inter rows these campsites are for long term folks.  30days plus.  They don't have concrete pads. They do have BBQs.

Absolutly,  plus if you have a small boat or a canoe there is really good fishing as the CG is at the north end of a lake.  That area is designated for fishing only so you don't have to worry about boaters or ski'ers.  I live on Fort Rucker so for me its a close place to go and if I forget something that I just have to have then its not that far to run back home.

I must add though that if you are not military that you can't buy anything at the stores on post, except the Lodging store.  You will either have to go to the town of Ozark or Enterprise which is about 15 miles from CG.

Engineers Park.  what a great place I have heard!  did you take any pictures?

it is about an hour from me, as I live by the FL border.

any specific sites you would recommend? ( ie; more shade, more room to set up, etc)

Yes I took pics I will try to download them to night.  site 25 is the one we like the most its closest to the water, 18, 19 20 are all really good too.  The have good amount of shade and pretty private.  I will have to do a drive thru again to double check the other sites that were nice also. As far a swimming you can only go on the weekends during set hours when they have a life guard on duty.  It also cost I don't know the rates off hand.  You do have to pay however the swim area has slides that go into the water and trampolines and a few other water toys.  Do to a water related accident a couple summers ago the army now requires you to only swim when life guards are present.

Okay I just tried call to confirm if this campground is for military only and no one picked up.  The web site say authorized patrons only.  However I will trying call again until I get someone.

Ok just found out that you have to be DOD employ or retired or active duty or some other affilate of the military   Sorry for those that aren't and can't come here.  However those that are you now have a review of the campground.  I will still try to post up some pics.
