I've camped here about 20 times over the years during family reunions. If you stay one year, they will guarantee you a site the same time next year. Never the same site! I couldn't really recommend one site over another, the campground is convenience but not great. There is a bus/shuttle that going from the campground to the park if you don't want to walk, it's a hike from the Canadian side.
The campground is a little hard to explain but I'll try. There are two separate sections to the campgrounds here, the US side and the Canadian. In general, the US side is more in the woods but most sites are all located on a hill side. The Canadian side are more in an open field area but larger, more level sites. I wouldn't recommend the Canadian side in August because of the limited shade, though I've camped it many times.
Here is an aerial view, the yellow is the US sites and pink is the Canadian sites. The CG is large with between 600-800 sites, the yellow area below has 50 roads in it alone. They also have purchased a CG a few miles away in 1996, Lake Glory CG. We have a group trip there each Sept.

FYI the bathhouses have individual showers with exterior doors. Most of the sink are located on the outside of the building and the toilets have no seats, just cold porcelain. ???
If you camp at the park (Knoebels Campground), you will hear the rides when they are running. We like the American sites on the same side as the office. It's not far to walk to or back from the park or the pool (pool only at the park and in the park campground, none at Lake Glory). The walk back is up hill. Yes, there is a shuttle, we don't normally wait on it, we just walk. We also like the shade that is there.
If you want full hookups, more quiet, no park noise, you should reserve at Lake Glory. They also have a pond and stream to fish in, believe you need a PA fishing license. You don't have to drive to go to the park, there is a bus that will take you there. It's about a 15 minute ride. I prefer to drive, that way I have air conditioning and don't have to worry about pick up times. The parking at the park is free.
I prefer the park campground. We go to Knoebel's for the rides and pool. Lake Glory is nice too. It really depends on what kind of experience you want. Both campgrounds have sites that are pretty close to one another. The bath houses at the park get used more as there are more tent campers there. Take your shower shoes and know that they get used hard, so don't expect them to spotless unless you get to use them right after the cleaning crew has been in.
Just got back from Knoebels today. Had a really good time. Went with a my wife and 2 kids. Met a friend of mine, his wife and 4 kids there. They rented a cabln, which was quite nice. We were in our Coleman, stayed in "Canada", on Klondike. Stayed from Friday to Sunday. Our site was very open, bathrooms and showers very clean and camp ground employees were very nice and helpful. Camp store is small, but has all the tourist type stuff, some supplies and coffee!
Was cold at night, about 32 F, the campground offers wood at $5.00 for small cans worth. Fire-rings at every site. The "Canada" site seem more open and have less tree coverage, "America, which is closer to the amusement park, has a lot more trees and shade.
Amusement park suffered a flood last fall after 2 hurricanes hit in a row, but you couldn't tell at all on the opening day, the 28th. Park is neat, a lot of old school type rides, 3 wooden coasters, but 1 wasn't working yet. The kids we were with ages 3 to 13 all had a great time. We plan on going back again in the summer when its warmer.
Thanks again for the info posted in previous posts!! 🙂
