Does anyone know what PA state parks will be remaining open through the winter?  We are always looking to get out if there is a warm weekend and they keep changing things around.  I know that French Creek SP was scheduled to be closed last winter and they stayed open.

Not sure if they still do, but I think Little Pine used to stay open through the first part of Dec.

It's kind of funny, I sent an e-mail off to the state last week to check on which state parks might be open for camping this winter.  Their response sent me to a link listing all of the PA parks, so I called and the lady I spoke with said she didn't know of any.  When I mentioned French Creek she said she'd have to check each park individually to find out.  Her supervisor didn't even know French Creek was open year round so I gave up and decided to check back later.

You're surprised that government workers in the PA bureaucracy don't know things???

Pickerel Point at Promised Land used to be open year round prior to 2007.
I will have to check on the status of it's active re-construction/coversion/budget cuts/red tape to a modern Memorial Day to Columbus Day setting.
