Congrats and good luck with the new camper, John. We squeezed in a trip to Blackwater River SP in Holt, FL, this weekend and made it back to be greeted with another freeze warning for the night here in Dallas.
We got there to a wet, cold afternoon (thankfully, it had stopped raining) with a 28 degree night under blankets and electric heater. At least we had a couple of spring days and were able to kayak one of those since the 2nd day was when we were leaving. 🙂 We had a great time, though, and it only cost us a new circuit breaker for the inverter (which wasn't the problem after all) and a new car battery which I found was dead when I needed to go back the mile I hiked after leaving Al on the white sand beach with the 'yak and cooler. The racing current from recent heavy rains in south AL and north FL made it impossible for us to go back upstream. Got back to the CG for the van and it wouldn't start. 😀 This is another one for our camping adventure journal. ::) It was still nice getting out there.
