Is your battery fully charged to 12.6V or greater?  Is the battery properly hooked up (ie. white is negative ground, black is positive).  Is the self resetting fuse good?  Most all built in water heaters do run on propane and not electricity.  Would help if you list the make model and year of your camper in your signature.

You are going to need a small meter to test the electric.
[li]Battery should have the RED wire to positive and BLACK to Negative.[/li]
[li]Is your battery fully charged to 12.6V or greater?[/li]
[li]There is often an inline fuse on positive line to check. (some resetting, some will blow and need to be replaced)[/li]
[li]Your circuit panel will most likely have 1 breaker (often 15a) that goes thru your inverter so it will work on 120v (shore power) or 12v (battery).  Your water pump and lights are on this circuit.  Your outlets are not.[/li]
Good Luck!

I've been looking into getting a 30 amp surge protector that also checks polarity, grounds, voltage and will turn power off when voltage is too high or low. They all seem to be about $175 and higher. Do you know of a cheaper one that gets the job done?

Thanks to Kitphantom, my DH got a nice Christmas present. I checked out the Progressive EMS on Amazon but wound up paying the same on CampingWorld.com that's a bit newer model. Who knew the dilemma of what to get him would pop up (excuse the pun -- nah!) on CanvasCampers!
