Well, we have a problem. Looking for some input. We hooked the PUP to the tow vehicle and the PUP running lights (brake lights, flashers, signals) don't work. We checked all the basics like fuses, wiring, etc. Any suggestions?

It seems that every time I am working on trailer light issues, it is a ground issue.

Yes, I second the ground being a major problem.  That is the white wire.

If you have a test light (if not, pick one up, I think they are only like $5) start at the connector on the TV and make sure that all works well.  If not, then the problem is with the TV.  If all works, plug the trailer in and start working your way back to see where the problem is.

I also believe in only working on trailer lights a few times.  If you constantly have problems, buy new lights and wire and redo it all.  It will be a lot easier.  I just did that last year with my pup (1 trip before I sold it) and my utility trailer.  $30 from Harbor freight and I got nice new LED lights.

Another culprit sometimes is the connector where your pigtail goes into the frame if you have one gets corroded. Had that happen on a couple of different trailers

When we picked up the Roo, the lights wouldn't come on.  Looked in the Bargman connector on the TV and there was a chunk of plastic jammed in there.  Pulled it out and all lights worked great.  No idea where that came from.  But I'm sure that I jammed it in there plugging in the camper.

Check the ground wire on the harness in the TV also. Depending on how well you store the harness it can be pulled and yanked. I have seen the ground wire in the TV half assed screwed on for a ground too and worked loose. Like others have said here spend 5 bucks and get a test light. Easy to use and yes some times just easier to rewire the trailer then repair it too. Good luck , you will figure it out for sure !!

DH is still under the weather. We had to cancel our plans to attend the Rally this weekend. As soon as he recovers, he plans to follow all the advice here and track down the problem. Thanks for all the input.

Did you end up figuring it out?

I had the same issue with my new TV.  It ended up being a simple fix.  The harness under the TV was not plugged in all the way to the back side of jack you plug the pup into.
