Yes, I second the ground being a major problem. That is the white wire.
If you have a test light (if not, pick one up, I think they are only like $5) start at the connector on the TV and make sure that all works well. If not, then the problem is with the TV. If all works, plug the trailer in and start working your way back to see where the problem is.
I also believe in only working on trailer lights a few times. If you constantly have problems, buy new lights and wire and redo it all. It will be a lot easier. I just did that last year with my pup (1 trip before I sold it) and my utility trailer. $30 from Harbor freight and I got nice new LED lights.

Check the ground wire on the harness in the TV also. Depending on how well you store the harness it can be pulled and yanked. I have seen the ground wire in the TV half assed screwed on for a ground too and worked loose. Like others have said here spend 5 bucks and get a test light. Easy to use and yes some times just easier to rewire the trailer then repair it too. Good luck , you will figure it out for sure !!
