I like the idea of changing it up. I organize pot luck breakfasts at work every now and then and like you said...after a few, people are bored. I would suggest checking what the "National Day" is around the trip. February 23 happens to be National Chili day and we are going to do Chili and Appetizers that day at work.
For example - Camp Taylor trip 5/18-20/12 has 2 interesting things. 5/18 is No Dirty Dishes day and 5/20 is Pick Strawberries day. The no Dirty Dishes meal could be interesting.
As a side note.....5/13 is National Leprechaun day. Isn't that 3/17???????????

I like the idea of a country (ie: France, Germany, etc) theme. HuskyCampers and I did a Civil War theme for the Gettysburg trip, and I was pleased to see what every one came up with as a dish that was Northern or Southern. It's also neat to learn more of the area we're in, if it's Upstate New York, are there regional dishes that could work. And don't forget , nothing wrong with ordering 25 pizzas! LOL

We haven't done a "take out" theme (whether truly ordered and delivered, or made by attendees served from takeout boxes).
