Are you using the latest technology equipment or the vintage camping products made many years ago?  THis is the lantern from 1962 that we still use today.

I carry a propane lantern that is probably 20 years old.  They haven't changed much.  I can't stand the battery lanterns.  I think they are heavy, need batteries too often, and don't provide enough light.  I do have a dual fuel lantern that is older....70's or 80's I'm guessing that currently doesn't work ( probably gummed up and needs a good cleaning) that I intended on using with my dual fuel stove so I only needed 1 fuel, but since I upgraded from the popup to the Class C with a stove inside, I don't even bring my dual fuel stove.  Now if I bring a lantern (which is rare) I will bring the propane lantern.  I have found that the porch light on the RV takes care of my outdoor lighting needs and often leave the lantern at home.....unless I'm dry camping.
