Cukoo we are looking for a spot to lease year round in Okeechobee is there one you would recommend some of them look like dumps but they are on the lake so that is one advantage. We are in the planning stages right now but it would be so great as our family could meet us there and save the drive to Ocala we are looking for one for about a 29 foot tt which we are looking for as well. thanks for your help
Not to familiar with the parks around here. Not that I don't know them... We just don't utilize their services... And like you said most of the parks-fish camps are pretty ratty. One that does stick out that we have heard good stories about would be Zachary Taylor Resort. We have seen it from Taylor Creek which is were we keep our pontoon docked and it is less than a quater mile from the locks entering Lake Okeechobee. There is also good fishing in Taylor Creek and the rim canal... Don't know how the prices compare but here is the link...
Checked out their site... Look in the for sale section. They are listing a 28 footer for $10,000 but no pics...
Nice place I think we stayed there overnight years ago when we were coming back and forth from the keys to ocala to get my mother in law settled up here. I like it but did not know it was a 55+ community. We will not be able to do that place for a year as my husband will not be 55 untill then and they told me on the phone one of us would have to be 55. I think from what they were saying we could still camp for the weekends which would be nice and we would just pull the tt. thanks for the help if you see anything else let me know.

Hhmm... I missed that also. We'll keep an eye out for you. We actually maintain Okee Tanties grounds at work but they don't have yearly leases that I know of and I wouldn't recommend it either until they actually put some monies into improvements. We used to frequent the park since it is located at the mouth of the Kissimmee River and the Lake, but last year the powers that be for the county figured by almost doubling the rates they would increase revenue. Didn't happen and we haven't been back....
