Yes today was a sad day.  We spent the time to winterize. It will sit good all winter now, and come spring, I will certainly need new tires, and she should be ready to go.

This Sunday when I come home from the Thanksgiving rally I'll winterize.  I already have the pink stuff sitting in my garage ready for when I get home.

Yes, we have never winterized this early, but we had to cancel our November reservations, so we just decided to do it. We will, as usual, be camping over New Years, but we leave it winterized for that trip.

I don't plan to do anything with the water.  I put the pink stuff in last November, and haven't used the sink (that's all I have) since then.

Next week sometime I'll pop it up and put down the mouse traps and take the batteries out of the carbon monoxide detector.  I suppose I should take out anything I really want, since I'm not sure if the roof will make it through the winter.

:'(  I'm just avoiding the idea of the end of the season until I absolutely have to face it, which will be after this weekend's Thanksgiving rally.

Fall and Winter are the Prime camping seasons here in Alabama. So we don't 'winterize'. We make sure to open all the drains between trips. But don't be jealous, my northern friends. Camping down here in the summer months can be brutal.

We have two more trips planned. One is coming up this week and the last next month. We could go more to other places, but we get busy with family, friends, and church holiday activities. We will winterize around Thanksgiving and look forward to the Southeast Rally in the spring.

yep we cleaned the pup out last weekend and getting ready to take to the cave for hibernation.  No winterizing needed in the cave,  always 56 degrees.  Didnt get out as much as I wanted to this year. :'(

We made our last trip the the Rhode Island beaches last weekend and when I came home I winterized the camper.
So sad, but Sunday and Monday nights here were in the low 20's. Cutting it a bit too close. 😉

I bought an adapter so I can put low pressure air into the system and bleed all of the faucets.  I plan on doing that, draining the water heater and putting some RV antifreeze in the plumbing traps and Thetford toilet.  We seldom see long deep freezes in Georgia.  I don't use the fresh water holding tank and don't see a way to easily get all of the water out.  Since there is plenty of room for expansion in it, I think it will be OK.  Whatcha think?  Will I be OK?  I had to unwinterize the PUP last year when it was new from the dealer and it was not a fun job.

Since you don't use the tank, you could just pour some RV antifreeze into the tank and leave it there.  It's supposed to protect down to -50 degrees, so even if it mixes with the little bit of water in the tank, you should be good.

I'm in GA, like Belchfire.  There is no such thing as winterizing.  We camp during the "winter."  Most of the state parks here have heated bath/shower houses, so it isn't bad.  Still can get mighty chilly, but not terribly so.

This was the big weekend.  Thanks to my dad for installing a valve that allows easy addition of antifreeze to the system and the lesson how to do all of it.  Today we backed it into it's winter parking space.  When the wind settles down, we will cover it.  The battery is in the garage and the propane is turned off.  I plan to have them filled up before the end of this week.

P's Place is officially put to bed for winter. Tanks removed, battery removed, water heater drained and bypassed. All lines filled with pink stuff. 2 boxes of dryer sheets spread around. (even if it doesn't keep the mice away, it does make the trailer smell good when opened next year).

I started winterizing yesterday to find that one of my low-point drains was too short to access and effectively sealed into the belly.  I must have missed it somehow when I winterized after our Thanksgiving trip last year.  A little bit of plumbing later and I had two new quarter-turn valves installed where I just had plastic twist-off caps before.  I love how easy it is to work with PEX.  Unfortunately, I started to run out of daylight as I finished pressure testing the new joints.

I finished up today, blowing out the lines and then following that up with pink stuff.  I like to do both to make sure there's as little water in the system as possible to start with.

DS#2 helped a little before he disappeared to go play with the next door neighbors.
