Everyone survive that line of storms today? Missed home, but work area lots of tree damage with some loss of power. Chief

We barely got hit by the storm (maybe 10 mins) & nothing brutal in terms of storm damage. It seemed like we were on the outskirts as it skimmed by... but we were without power for 30 hours.

I got almost nothing, but 5 miles away from me my mom had a tree come down.  It could have been so much worse, but managed only to take a small corner off the garage roof. Also damaged was an Adirondack chair and footrest, a patio set, and a wagon for lawn stuff.  No one was hurt, that's what matters most. I am a little excited to rent a wood chipper and log splitter, and now I have the proper motivation to learn chainsaw maintenance and cleaning!

I'm pretty impressed the tree managed to move away from the stump, seen in the bottom left corner of the next pic

The stump will begin immediate rotting if you drill holes in it and dump empson salts in the holes.

Your mom was lucky it was only property damage and not worse. I could only imagine if that wheelbarrow was her car!

Our uphill neighbor's tree fell recently and we just noticed it out in our backyard. He's going to be sending someone to repair our fence shortly. Not a rush now that my dogs are gone because one of them (Ivan) would have taken off before we noticed the downed tree.
