Lets face it, making made decisions can kill you. I Googled 'carbon monoxide kills camper' and can read dozens of news articles of tragic mistakes.
1. Have a carbon monoxide detector, even in a tent.
2. Check the batteries and test it. I think you can hold it to your exhaust on your vehicle and set it off.
3. Make sure you have proper ventilation. Open a window part way.
4. Don't barbecue with propane/charcoal indoors or use it for heat indoors.
A lantern in a tent can kill someone.

Please be safe and happy camping!
I use a " Little Buddy" heater in the pup. I always open both bunk ends for ventilation and have a carbon monoxide sensor. I know the heater has a low oxygen cut off sensor but I still have a back up in place. Most of the time I heat the pup up really warm and if I get cold during the night I will cut it back on for a while then cut it off. Commom sense plays a HUGE part in this conversation.
We had several people in our camping group in Korea die because they used a charcoal grill in their tent to stay warm. ???
They got drunk and...
To me it's just natural selection at work, but you have to live in Korea to understand where I'm coming from... People do some REALLY stupid things here. ::)
