I'm in northern NJ, and felt it.

At first we thought it was the facility testing cannons (I work for the US Army), or the rock quarry down the road was blasting.  After about 30 seconds we realized it was shaking for way to long to be either of those events.  We were evacuated from the 3-story building I work in, and stood outside on a beautiful summer day for about a half hour.

Hope everyone in VA/DC area where the center was is ok.

King of Prussia PA....Yep

I wear headphones when I work and people have been know to shake my chair to get my attention.  I kept looking around and nobody was there.  We started seeing everyone leave the building so my area did as well.  After about 20 minutes everyone went back inside.  I wonder if someone actually checked something in our building or if people just got tired of standing outside and decided to go back in.

Felt it in NYC.  I thought someone was jumping on the back bumper of my ambulance until I looked up and saw buildings shaking and people rushing out of buildings in to the streets.  NYPD is under a "level one mobilization" due to overcrowding in the streets of lower Manhattan.

I saw mention of it from Navy buds in the Hampton Roads area this morning.  But personally, didn't make it to me... all the way out here west of Spokane, WA.

Hey LoneLock and CampingPhil-

We felt it too!  DH works in West Chester PA; he was on a rubber roof working on an industrial AC unit when it began to shake; I was sitting in a concrete-slab building (waiting for my tow vehicle to be inspected - I'll use this opportunity to give a shout-out to the excellent folks at Gene's Auto Body on Stout Drive in Warminster!)

I initially thought that a car or something heavy had fallen onto the floor of the auto body shop; I thought I was having a stroke or something and was about to die - the thought of an earthquake never entered my mind.  After my oldest son and sis called/texted me to discuss, I felt much better!

DH was evac'd from QVC; my youngest sis was evac'd from her building in Ft. Washington.  My mom in Roslyn saw crystal prisms on her lamps shake; my mother-in-law five blocks away doing yard work didn't feel a thing.

Not felt in FL BUT never run outside in an earthquake, get under a table/desk or in a door jam, the west coast folks are making fun of us, saying they eat 5.8 for breakfast. Then they showed devastating photos of our damages=a yogurt cup fallen over, a beach chair on its side saying"we will rebuild". Now a Hurricane? STAY SAFE my Northern Friends 8)
