Whoops!
Fridge access was definitely a contributing factor to why we drifted away from the "light". Even our high-wall popup (2007 Fleetwood Saratoga - smaller 12' sibling to the Niagara) had fridge access issues. There was plenty of room immediately in front of the fridge to open it, but that area was blocked by the slide when it was in and top was down. That and the measly 600lbs of cargo (definitely not for Joe ;D ) were the only two things I actually disliked about it.
I don't use my refrigerator. I figure if I have to put everything in a cooler to get it to the park, I may as well leave it in there. BUT I often take a leap into my camper and reach around for things like a beached whale. I haven't seen if I can crawl or not. Acting like a beached whale or doing a military crawl is much more entertaining.
At least you're a pro at setup!

Have you ever had that feeling that something just wasn't right when you were closing up your popup camper? :blink1:
I just remembered that I left food in my refrigerator. The forecast is rain the next 2 days but looks like I'll be opening it anyway. :tease:
We Pennsylvania Dutch have a saying:
"We grow too soon old and too late smart."
Joe, at least you thought of it now. I did that and did not realize it till the next time we were packing to go back out. 3 weeks later and a stretch of 90 degree days. Mmmm smells delicious.
on the bright side our fridge is straight in from the door so it is easy to get to without popping up.
About 10 years ago, I put hamburger meat in Microwave to thaw out quicker and we decided to eat something else instead. We packed up and went home later that afternoon. About a month later I smelled something rotting in camper! Yep, real bad! I took what was left out to woods and then I had to cut some apples up onto a plate, I put it into microwave and closed it up to dehydrate. I also did the same in the camper. Yes, it took all the smell out! Major Sput!
You don't want to know about the cup of coffee i left in the microwave for the journey home once. Couldn't figure out why there was coffee all over the floor and stove. Then I found the cup.
And you don't want to know about the science experiment with the bread in the microwave. It was a month before we found that.
I now have a ribbon I can hang from the microwave to remind me we put stuff in there.
Just got a new Flagstaff and the fridge is not accessible. I didn't really think about it ,our only concern was to NOT have a dinette in the way of the bunks - what a pain in the tush that was! We're so used to packing coolers that we'll transport food in them then we'll just use the fridge for milk and left overs. Hopefully we'll remember to empty it prior to leaving the campground.
And that is why we use our checklist every time we set up and break down. Phil, being a pilot, created these awesome, step by step "pre-flight" checklists for us, including "empty the fridge" and "turn off the hot water heater", etc . We added that last one to the checklist after realizing we had left the water heater on while driving home. :chef:
