With years of towing popup campers, and travel trailer and never having a problem, I had my first self induced accident with our 31 foot travel trailer.
Spent the weekend cleaning and sealing the roof and prepping it for a trip later in the week. When taking it back to its storage location I side swiped a pole pulling into the storage lot. It looked pretty bad and I thought - that's it, I am done...
The Heartland Prowler Lynx was purchased new and only 1 1/2 years old. We have Progressive insurance on everything we own and Progressive has always had a good reputation with their RV insurance, so now we were going to find out how good.
24 hours after making a claim, I met with their specialized RV adjuster and he looked at it and basically said "relax - we got this". He is estimating about $5000 in damage, but it is covered completely. It seems that Progressive has a close working relationship with the collision department of Camping World in Lakewood, NJ and since they are official Heartland Dealers, Progressive feels they have the best chances of getting the skin parts in a reasonable amount of time. Though it was made very clear that in the RV repair world, reasonable amount of time could be 2 months or more just for the parts.
So on Thursday, I will drag it up to Lakewood, NJ and kiss it goodbye for the winter and hope it will be ready for use by the Spring Opener for 2019.
So far, nothing but kudos to Progressive RV insurance reps. He already has me on a plan to give weekly status update reports on progress.
