I don't have a flag pole. My little 12 inch bicentennial (1976) flag would look kind of funny if it were on a big flag pole. I was born in 1976 so I like the bicentennial flags. I have a full size one at home but that is getting kind of worn and it is kind of difficult to find a 35 year old flag.

We set up one every time we camp. I made it out of 1 inch pvc pipe. It swivels when the wind blows. It comes apart to be stored in the pup. I would post a pic, but I don't know how to do that.
Here's a link to the plans. takes an hour to make. I suggest 1 inch instead of 3/4, it makes it a little more sturdy. you can add a solar spot light to it also.
when you get to the link scroll down for the plans, the page looks blank when it first loads.
LL - 76, eh? My oldest was born then.
http://www.flagstuff.com/histo.....index.html Here's a manufacturer of US made Bicentennial flags.
(FYI - I've saved every Bicentennial quarter that I've ever received for her. I give her a batch - a roll or two now - every year or so. She got the motherload on her 18th birthday.)
Buying a new new bicentennial flag seems like cheating. Sort of like buying a new new 48 star flag. A true 48 star flag should be older than 1959. A true bicentennial flag should be from 1976 IMHO.
I like to look at my flags and think where they have been and who has flown them. My little flag is the kind from a parade. Some Dad bought the flag for his kid who probably sat on his Dad's shoulders waving it as the Fire Trucks and Floats came by. What happened to that little kid??? The flag probably went in some attic by January 10, 1976 for many years until someone cleaned the house and then I got my hands on it.

I set up a flagpole when we camp. It is telescoping and only takes a couple seconds to set up. I put in a tailgating stand that is ment to set under the wheel of a tire. I put it under my stabilizer block.
