Not everyone has tacky lights. But, those who do choose them for a reason.

If you have tacky lights, what's your reason for choosing the ones you have?

The lights we picked up are bear lights. We wanted something to shed a little light at night and of course in my wifes eyes cute too. So off to ebay I went and that's what we ended up with !!

We picked up regular lights until we find something that reflex us, or makes us laugh.

I wanted to avoid them at all costs.  DW shows up with them since they were on sale in the camp store.  After a season or two they got flaky and we now just use rope lights, though a section of them has died.  I guess you get what you pay for.

Until this year, I have used the same lights for close to 20 years now. But after many storms and wind, they are about to retire. I bought some LED lights that change colors and stay solid white, red/white, or change red/ white/ blue or blue/white.
I even went and bought some small LED ice sickles to put up in the hot weather to remind us how we like the cold at times.
I use my lights on my awning a little at dark to light the sitting area. The lights go off at bed time or when other campers go to bed if I'm still up. Usually around 10 pm.

We have parrots, because we like Jummy Buffett, and when my mom camps with us, we use our martini glasses, and we also have Mickey heads. They all reflect our interests.

Best Regards,
Norm

We won some night lights, a small string of paper globes with the Amercan flag motif. We also use the string lights but turn those off before going to bed. The only lights on our camper at night are Fire Captain Jim's RV Nite Lights which keep the camper lights illuminated off the inverter.

We use a rope light on the awning.
If camping with friends or at a rally where there is likely to be other people at our site, we will add a couple strands of white Christmas lights around the perimeter of the site to make it a bit safer to see where everyone is walking.
The lights get turned off most of the time.
There has been a couple times where I wake up in the morning and have to turn them off though.  Oops.
Good thing we camp at State Parks and our sites are usually not right on top of each other and the light (hopefully) does not bother anyone.o

I have several different sets with different themes. I am now at the point where I have to thin them out and give up some.

We have a string of black Halloween lights ( like Christmas lights only black ) I used them one year when we went camping over Halloween and I liked the effect. They give off just enough light under the awning but aren't going to blind the neighbors.

We have a simple string of multicolor LED lights.

The main reasons we have that set are longevity, low power consumption, it helps identify our trailer in the dark and it provides some external lighting without totally destroying your night vision.

I used tiki heads for my theme over 10 years and now use rope lights it I find the next ones.  The tiki heads made a lot of noise in the wind.

Well, tried to find 8 balls and cue sticks, or aces and jacks, but to no avail.  So settled on flips flops as they are our basic theme when we're out...."kick back and relax"

We take advantage of the after-Christmas sales and buy LED lights to use on the camper. Some white, some multicolored and some twinkle. We, too, mostly use them to guide us back to the camper at night.
