Being out on disability was getting me stressed so I booked one of the few remaining sites at French Creek SP. It was a busy weekend with a lot of Boy Scouts but I had a quiet site. Got some reading done, played ham radio and just relaxed. I was surprised to see Lone Lock just up the lane and was happy to meet Cindy aka Mariska.

My site

Some of my handmade "firewood"

I saw you camping  🙂

I was pulling in around the loop and I saw a familiar white truck and a HTT.  I said to my son.....I think I know that guy.  Sure enough as I was setting up he came walking by.  Wish I could have hung out and chatted with Yak a bit more but........

It was my nieces 12th birthday sleepover party for her and 3 friends.  My sister and her husband got a modern cabin for the girls.  My nephew stayed with my wife and I in the RV.  Cindy came up on Saturday and helped with the geocaching and smore stuff with the girls.

My sister got my niece a GPS for her birthday since she is into geocaching.  Cindy and I hid my wife and my present to my niece in a "temporary" geocach near the cabin.  She LOVED the hidden part as much as the present  :dans2:  The girls loved the hike and geocaching (my son and nephew went fishing and loved that as well....of course they didn't catch anything )  Then we went back to the campground and built a campfire and cooked burgers and smores and mountain pies over the fire.  Of course the girls did hide out in the camper for a bit and watched a movie with my son and giggled and talked like 12yo's do  :banghead: .....i'm glad I have a son.

I'm a woodturner and the ones that don't make it get used for firewood

Which loop were you in? I've been wondering how the C loop renovations have been going. When we were there in Jan, MLK wknd, they had the markings all sprayed out on the ground, but with the winter we had, I'm not sure how much progress they made.

There was lots of gravel and materials in front of the 3 cottages and the top part of the loop was tapped off with caution tape.  I saw some machinery there as well.  I didn't explore it much.

I talked to the lady at the check in booth, it will be open by Memorial Day even if not finished but she said it may be done by then.
