hello, new member here ,
I know there are millions of campers out there from back packers to motor homes. I am in my 60's now and father time is starting to mess with me  the old bones aint what they used to be !! I have been a tent camper since my 20's  but the tent has lost a little of its luster as I no longer wish to roll out the tarp, set up the tent , set up the cots , stake the tent  set the guy lines
and then reverse the procedures  to leave especially  if its a one night stay.
My Criteria was pretty simple, off the ground, out of the rain, easy to tow (light weight) decent ground clearance,  have to be able to stand up in it, and ease of set up,  I was not interested in sinks, holding tanks stoves or fridge  should be easy correct  ??  NOT !!! I understand everybody's needs and wants are different , for me I was a auto tech for 30 years and have seen the  results of people that over taxed there vehicles , so light weight was important to me.
I thought I had all the boxes checked when I found a Leesure Lite Excell , made in Canada, good luck finding one used < like the movie there  gone in 60 seconds  !!  so I found a local dealer  and got a  demo on a new one , and I have to tell you the are slicker than snot on a Crisco'ed pole  the thing sets up in less than 60 seconds  250 lbs  empty weight !! (made for motorcycles and small cars)  OMG its cool I'm fat and lazy and I loved it  BUT they are damn proud of it @ a O.T.D price of $6200.00 !!  when open I thought the  fiberglass  platform and tub were  a little flimsy for me  being a big guy  and was not sure of the durability over the long haul .
So back to my question, why doesn't  any American company  make anything like  the Leesure Lite  Excell a minimum go any where any place minimal instant pop  camper ?? is there a design flaw ?  I found 2 that were similar but larger  a Kamperoo made in Australia and a Combi Camp made in Denmark  !!    I think there is a big segment being over looked , I wound up with a used Quick silver 6.0 with off road package all aluminum but built like a tank  650 lbs empty . what say  you ???  http://www.leesurelite.com/how.....videos.asp

American companies are giving America what it wants.  Excess.

Look at the houses our parents grew up in to the houses that exist today.  A family of 5 could live in a 3 bedroom 1 1/2 bath house comfortably 30 years ago.  Now for a family of 5 each person needs their own bedroom room and bathroom plus an office plus a bonus room plus a toy room plus the man cave, on and on.  Cars too.  Remember when electric windows, electric locks, tilt steering, and AC were options in a car.  Now you need to special order a car without features.

Sorry still new to forum, could not figure out  how to edit me previous post,
I guess more than anything I'm trying to figure out why none of the other companies  have a easy up design like this ?
Jayco , Rockwood ??  lighting fast  & light weight , I don't imagine its a patent thing as the Australians  and Danish  make campers that open exactly the same way,  just seems there would me a market for them

if I could have found one I would have been on it like white on rice !! do you think there is a design flaw ??
