I don't really believe you are describing your camping experience exactly ;).....
But, camping to one person might be completely different than camping to another.
Who is to say what one might enjoy while "camping" is right or wrong?
I wouldn't mind you as a neighbor, except for the wild kids (just the wild part), barking dog, and 4 lanterns. Anything more than 3 is too much. Lol
I think that (unfortunately) people often use 'camping' as a translation for 'roughing it' which somehow seems to be twisted into 'being able to do away with manners' because we're in the 'outdoors/wild'.
Personally, I've found that CG's differ in the type of 'climate' that they offer. I think it is the responsibility of the would-be camper to find a place where they will most fit in and not disturb others. That said, I know there can be a fine line between what some neighbors think acceptable/unacceptable. Still, it's considerate to try and find out beforehand what the general 'feel' of a place is.
Honestly, I wouldn't be very happy with lots of noise next to me. We go to the park for nature, relaxation, and some modicum of unwinding. During day, some noise is ok. However, after about 2100-2200, we don't want to hear dogs barking, people yelling, etc.
One thing I have noticed, is a lot of families with kids stay near the playground(s). Therefore, we try to stay farther away from those playgrounds, just to avoid any disagreements. We stayed near a playground once. Kids were at the playground at midnight! That is a bit nuts. I would say, in this same campground (different night), there was a drunken party until 0400. We won't be going back to that campground.
I do understand kids need to unwind, too.
