KOA sent me the notice of this. I checked Jim's background (on the site), and for awhile he worked for/with Donald Trump. That's not a big plus in my book. I can only hope Jim decided he'd rather be a decent human being. Perhaps this show will reveal his decision. I'd like to believe that he wants to.
Is this on tonight? Looks interesting. I've only caught snippets of this show. I don't much care for any so-called 'reality' programming. The whole '15 minutes of fame' thing, and all the phoniness, bad behavior, etc. But I might try to catch this one tonight. If I can't, I look forward to reading the comments here. Negative and Positive. 🙂
As usual, this show tonight lived up to my expectations. A eagle scout now is head of the biggest private campgrounds going under cover, best way to see how things are being done on the front lines! I feel this organization has best values for customer service and also to help with cancer kids camp program! I am a believer in camping more at a KOA!
So, I watched the KOA Undercover Boss and I thought it was a pretty good show. Not much different from any hospitality business but I could related to it more with camping. Improving operations, recognizing employees and the typical go see your family and have a vacation that the show has each week. It was nice to recognize the owner as an Eagle Scout and the companies KOA Care Camps for Kids.
It does take a lot for a company to say they have their own (reservation) software stinks and is outdated.
Two lines that I had to laugh at: "A chicken is only a bird" and " That's not a Baby Ruth in the pool"
Just an interesting observation:
These reviews about the show are uniformly positive. The views on another camping forum are uniformly negative.
I'd've suspected more uniform demographics..........
(Personally, on a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give the show a 6. It's the only time I've ever watched it, and I don't plan to again; too much fluff for me.)
I just watched it online. I enjoyed it. I would like to know what happened to the a-hole on the phone. The few screen shots I saw of the reservation system it looks like an old HRGAS system. I used to work in hotels until 9 years ago and that system was a PIA to use back then. I can't imagine what it is like to use today. I was involved in converting some hotels to a new Oracle system that was much better.
I have seen only a handful of undercover boss's but it seems it always boils down to the same thing. The people at the top don't know the actual struggles that the people who actually do the work go through. An honest thank you from your boss can go a long way but is rarely given.

I watched the show when it originally aired. I cannot help but wonder, now that it's been almost half a year, how much of that original enthusiasm and empathy continues. Yes, he helped out those fortunate few, but how much has been changed company-wide? How many of the rear-echelon, lace-panty crowd go out and say, "Thank you" ?
BILLINGS, Mont. -- CBS has decided not to immediately re-air the KOA Undercover Boss episode featuring KOA CEO Jim Rogers, which was scheduled to air Friday, June 7, KOA has reported.
Programmers at CBS decided at the last minute to air an episode of American Baking Competition on Friday night instead.
The producer of Undercover Boss said that KOA's episode will still air at a later date, yet to be determined.
