Have you painted the outside of your camper?

I want to paint (at least the side of) my camper with a magnetic paint then cover it with probably just a plain white paint.  Does anyone know if I should be using a special paint? Spray paint?  Oil? Latex? Automotive specific?

(webmaster please move this post if it's not in the right topic, thx)

A magnetic paint?  Not sure about that.

Here's a thought though, and I've seen it with a couple folks with Apaches, a "wrap".  You've probably seen them on city busses, some folks' trucks, etc.  You can get them made up a sign places.  If you tire of it, no biggie.  You can easily remove it.

I used good ole rustoleum on my roof.  Oil based if I remember....meant for metal.  If you google $50 paint job there are people who have painted their entire car with rustoleum and it looks good.  They thin it down a lot and put many coats on.

I used Rustolum on my 1979 camper. I thinned it down and used a airless sprayer. Prep is the big thing.  Remove anything possible then sand/prep and use lots of tape on stuff you don't want paint on.  LOOKS SHARP!

Note: I had metal body panels - but worked well on plastic, metal and wood.  Make sure there is NO RUST to pain over...use a rust converter or sand/fill/sand/prime it first.
