We go, but we pray that it is one of those rains where the clouds split just before hitting us and then come together after it has past us.
Usually it is a week long trip where it rains every day very lightly. A couple of years ago (tenting) we had to sleep in the car and pulled out a day early. Just to much lightning and the rain was coming down in sheets. Took us two days before the rains let up to set everything up in the backyard to dry
We've never cancelled due to rain and lately it's rained on us A LOT! Almost to the point where we started considering trading the pup for a travel trailer. Florida thunderstorms can be VERY scary in a popup. It's annoying when you're waiting for the rain to let up so you can then put everything down soaking wet, only to watch your neighbors push a button to slide their bumpouts in, hook up and drive off. UGH! Anyway, we always go and hope for the best. We make sure that we have games and our easy up canopy so we're not all trying to huddle under the awning....we very rarely sit inside our camper.
We usually will always go on a scheduled trip. The only thing that might make us reconsider is if it's calling for 100% chance of rain for the entire duration of the trip.
I do recall one cold, miserable trip to Hickory Run SP in April of 2011. It was cold, windy and rainy. It was supposed to be a three day weekend, but we did pack up and leave a day early for that one, mostly because we underestimated exactly how cold and windy it was going to be. We didn't have the camper set up in cold weather mode yet (no Reflectix window inserts and no Gizmos), didn't quite have adequate jackets/sweatshirts, and on top of that, I discovered the water pump was broken.
That's the only one I really wish we had just skipped, and we've been on many other wet and sometimes also cold trips.
