I so have to go to the grey side and get a hybrid allready. Yesterday the weather was so nice here in the northeast I popped the pup and removed none essential stuff and added stuff that we need. Its been pretty tough figuring it all out for this season because we bought a new tow veh. although it has a bigger towing capacity 6000lbs, it has much less cargo area for all of our stuff. I actually took a few pictures since the organizational layout is new to me so i can remember to fit it back in after the next trip next weekend. Do you have a system for organizing your camper and are you out growing the camper that you are currently in? inquiring minds want to know. As you can see by the pictures not and inch of room left. The main hall area will be taken up by my two coolers one for drinks the other for cold food. Transporting the coolers in the camper is key & helps clear up the TV quite nicely. I simply slide them in last before we go lock the door so they don't end up on the road side and away we go!
main cabin area beds slide over dinette area
Part of the reason we went grey, we just plain ran out of room and all the unpacking and packing the day we left was just starting to take the fun out of the weekend for me. Our pup had every crevice filled and I had my 7 year old in there after it was down looking for spots to put stuff.
Good luck.
Best Regards,
Norm
so, i guess you're asking where to pack for your hybrid?
our hybrid has sooo much more room for storage, than either of our old pups.
and we NEVER take a cooler anymore, because our hybrid has a fridge/freezer that we can get something cold, anytime we stop enroute.
we have so much room, we still haven't filled all the storage areas, even after 7 years of ownership.
Jon,
When you get the "check tires message", are they all still there? ;D ;D ;D
Seriously though, how are you doing?
Wehn you look at hybrids, check out the storage space availability and accessibility from the outside.
I have seen some units that have 50% less storage in the same length HTT as mine.
Look at the cabinets carefully. I've seen quite a few that the bottom on the cabinet is not usable, but has a big door on the outside.
We don't really take a cooler much anymore except maybe for watermelons or something like that. Fridge holds a lot.
Good luck.
Lou, I am doing great, healing faster and faster each day and my back is almost as good as new thanks for asking! Went out to the season opener last month and slept in the pup for the first time since surgery. I added a 3 inch memory foam topper and it was a non issue for my back. I will def keep that in mind as i look closer at TT for storage .I hope to make a purchase by the end of this year or beginning of next. Would be really nice to start off next season in a new TT and not worry about all the space and stuff.
Bought our hybrid end of July 2013. Love it! Wish we had done it sooner. It was really a comfort thing. That set up and tear down was wearing me out with the pup. Have lots of room for storage now, and can leave everything in place all summer long. Hardly have to put anything in the truck now. When I cleaned it out to store for the winter, I put all the things that didn't have a freeze warning into plastic tubs and stored it in the hybrid, some things I left in the cupboards (if they couldn't be affected by rodents). Had NO evidence of rodents when we opened it either. The rest had homes inside the house. This spring, simply packed the gear back in the same cupboards, and we are ready to go. Beds can be left made, if you aren't washing sheets every time, and fridge can be left on, if you want, between trips. Have to run water through the plumbing to flush out the antifreeze and we are ready.
In fact, fridge is on now and some of the food is already in, in anticipation of camping this weekend. Remaining food tomorrow and then clothes and we can drive away.
You are more than welcome to check it out and inspect the storage the next time we see you.
