As a long-time member of AAA, I've begun (after a hiatus) to play with their on-line trip planner. It's give you directions from here to there, with the option of modifying them; area restaurant info; area lodging (hotel/motel) info; area campground info; and, even, road construction sections that will affect driving.
I emailed them, though, after I could not determine if the program could/would tell me of places (tunnels, for example) that restrict drivers with propane.
They promptly got back to me with a great big "Negative", and they really could not seem to care less.
I was told by the Customer "Service" Rep that I could put together a detailed trip using their app (read: bust my ass assembling driving, eating, and lodging info), then contact "whoever" (state police, propane police, Homeland Security???) to determine which, if any, places would restrict me and my propane, and then remake the trip program to reroute around those locations.
Damned nice of 'em. Apparently, people who pull pups or other RVs do not constitute a sufficient number of AAA members to make a difference to them. Some trip programs are fast; some trip programs are slow; Triple-A's trip program is half-fast, and they're going to keep it that way.
