Sleep is the #1 choice; usually everyone is tired from taking advantage of whatever the CG has to offer. If it's rained all day and nobody has gone out at all, this still seems to happen after a large meal.
Other than that, following events on smartphones (news, sports) and having lively discussions regarding same is quite rewarding, as well as games such as Texas-hold-em, and backgammon. When the boys were younger, reading out loud, checkers, and go-fish were popular.
That said, we have 2 teenagers (16 and 18); the dynamic now is quite different from when we shared a tent with them 10+ years ago, but in our PUP, a nap still seems to be the #1 choice for both children and adults.
We usually play regular cards and have several card games, a few games are in the bin and we drag them out to play depending on how hard/long the rain looks like it will last ( :D), watch TV if the Air TV is working, read our Nooks, or just plain have a conversation or three. ;D Believe me, we have rain just about 80% of our camping trips and come prepared.
Well we take DirecTv with us, so if it rains we watch TV. If it is storming with no TV signal, then its either movie time (something on the DVR). Or "IF" we can find a covered area to sit outside, it is nice to watch it storm/rain.
Sometimes a nap--sometimes a trip in to the nearest town. I mean there are several things to do.
