I make all the reservations and select most of the trips. DW will occasionally pick a destination, but I'm still usually the one that will select a nearby campground and make the reservation. We always discuss upcoming trips before we decide on anything. Usually, the kids are just happy to go along as long as there are other kids to play with (rallies or camping with friends) or fun activities planned.
Since DW would be perfectly happy staying home, I am the one who books the camping trips. I talk with DW before I book to try to get her excited. She is looking forward to the Knobels Rally this coming Sept.

DW and I have a working system. We discuss where we want to go and I do the booking, printouts and route. She takes care of the groceries and all inside things. Sheets, towels etc. I take care of all outside things. Everyone has set tasks for setup including the DGD's. When we get home, I put the camper and all outside things to bed and she takes care of leftover groceries and inside things. Since we have been married for 40 years we pretty much even know what the other one is thinking. Pretty scary sometimes. 🙂
During the off-season, we budget for weekenders and discuss if a 'big' trip (involving time off from work) is possible. I'm usually the person who books as my schedule allows for more flexibility.
The hardest part is deciding whether or not a potential cancellation fee is worth booking a spot at a desired destination several months in advance (like Rollins Pond, NY) when there's no way of knowing if work/academic/family obligations might make the trip impossible. If you don't book as soon as the window opens, you might not be able to go, but, if you want to plan a trip at that particular location, you might not be able to wait until the last minute. I'm not complaining, just explaining.
