Joe and I are off to Seven Points Campground at Raystown Lake (PA) this Friday for the long weekend. This is our first trip out since our long trip out to Wyoming/Colorado/S.Dakota.  We usually don't do holiday weekends, but decided at the last minute to try and get a campsite, and were successful  ;D...We're really looking forward to riding the awesome trails at this place and enjoying the campfire.

Anyone else heading out this weekend?

Peter and I were going to be camping from Thursday to Monday at our favorite place in Gibson PA, but plans may be changing as Peter got a new job yesterday....

Not us.  Its to much of a pain to get back on to the island after the holiday weekend, way to much traffic.

I'll be out next weekend with Lou at Fishermans SP in RI.

Congrats to Pete on the new job  ;D

Thanks, its been over 9 months, so lets say that things have been very very very very very tight. If it wasn't for the fact that we saw this coming and had the forethought to prepay for out camping over the winter, we would have never been able to get out this year.

I hear the east end of Long Island is nice.  Considering that we're under a tropical storm warning, you should be able to find a nice beach front site site. :-

Heading to Francis Slocum State Park outside of Wilkes Barre, Pa......compromise, Kolin has polo tournament up there on Saturday so that was the closest state park to the tourney!  Looks like a nice park.  We'll see.  Just glad we can get out again.

Mick - How was Francis Slocum? There are supposed to be decent mountain bike trails there - was the camping decent?

Francis Slocum was a very nice park.  We didn't get to explore the park as much as we would have liked as it was a busy weekend.  There are lots of trails.  I kind of like the fact that the campground is set a good distance from the day use areas but because of the shape of the lake, it is "U" shaped, you are still right near the water.  I am pretty sure we will be back.
