We are making our reservations to come but will be in site 57 which is not on the list above. All the others are unavailable at this point. Just Carol and I for now but hoping to entice a few more family members to come. We are in for the potluck. No fur-babies with us either.

Halloween Rally is over, time to look forward to the Thanksgiving Rally.
I need to hang around while the turkeys cook this year and take notes because the following week I'll be deep frying 5-6 turkeys for a meal my church is providing for a youth center. I've deep fried turkey before (singular) but never running 2 fryers for multiple turkeys :chef:

Don't worry, we are recruiting many members of our church to be there that day to help with the meal.
Every month we go to a youth center for at risk youth, THE POINT, and serve a meal and provide various activities. Personally I am only involved with the food part, usually only washing dishes because I don't get there until after work around 6. Once a year around October November we try to go all out from the typical pasta, hamburgers & hot dogs, chicken, etc. Last year we made steak and baked potatoes. This year we are making a full blown Thanksgiving dinner.
We are having the congregation members make pies instead of our usual cookies. We are making real mashed potatoes not instant so we have to peel a lot of potatoes. We are breaking up into teams to handle each aspect. I'll be in charge of the turkeys along with 1 other guy and a floater or 2. I took the day off since we will need to start this around noon.

After 10 years of cooking 46 turkeys or over 736 lbs of meat - I am stepping down this year with cooking.
I think I've done my share. :omg:
With some help from 2HappyCampers and Samebutdifferent, Chiefbowes will be taking over this year.
We do need to someone to find and coordinate a local firewood delivery. The cost will be split by everyone attending. If you can help, please send me a private message? Thanks!
