I just received an email from the PA State Park, which many of you will also be receiving.
The past weekends' heavy snowfall has caused severe tree damage, loss of power, and water/sewer line issues that require state parks to close the campground for the remainder of the 2011 camping season. The campground will reopen on March 30, 2012. In addition, the call center staff will also be attempting to contact you to give a heads up on the closure of the campground.
We are discussing our options for this rally and will update this thread shorty so please don't cancel your reservation at this time.
Update: This is Pine Grove SP Campground's last weekend before closing for the season and they will not have electric and water issues fixed before this weekend. The campground will be closed and everyone who has a reservation will receive a full refund without penalty.
The weather this coming weekend looks great for fall camping (high 50s, low 40s) and we are going to move the rally to a private campground. I'm confirming the block of sites, rates and hopefully a pavilion for our group dinner. Final details posted tomorrow.

There is a shower/bathroom local (across the road).
We will be gathering at Pavilion 3 near site 127 for our group dinner on Saturday at 5pm.
We are sorry to say we won't be going this weekend. We've had a lot of storm damage at home (thankfully no damage to the house or vehicles). We are going to use the time I have taken off from work to clean up the yard and take down the smaller trees that need it. The larger trees will be taken down by a tree company. Any suggestions on that would be appreciated.

I'm hoping that we will be able to visit with the early arrival campers on Friday. We are driving to Pittsburgh on Friday and pickup the Turnpike in Carlise. I've been whispering sweet nothings into DH, BadSeed's ear to make a slight detour in our trip plans. Hoppppping to get to stop to see any early arrivals. Dawn, BadSeed loves your mashed potatoes too. Maybe you could make a batch for Friday. 😀
