CanvasCampers.com and our awesome members are involved and share in so many activities of the outdoors and camping including dutch oven cooking, kayaking, fishing, hiking, biking, geocaching and more.  We now are the first geocache is the "CG Series" located in French Creek State Park and several more scheduled at other campgrounds and state park for 2014.  This is a nice walk for children or your pets.  Thanks MariskaHargitay and Lone Lock for your patience and help.

If you find a CG Series Cache, share it on this thread!  We will also be telling you about others as they are slowly places throughout North America.

Gifford Pinchot State Park is 15 min away.  We could easily put one there.

Most (if not all) GA state parks have caches; what are the requirements of a CG cache?

Each location needs permission to place a cache, most state parks have a form to complete with the information.  You would need to walk in the woods, find a location and save the coordinates prior to us completing the paperwork.

We plan to use military ammo boxes (like pictured above) for our cache.  The two main reasons are low maintenance and to keep at family oriented.  Plastic containers can crack or leak which would require extra visits and maintenance.  Smaller containers need a lot of upkeep because of a small log that fills up fast.  They are also harder to find for kids and novice geocachers.  These ammo boxes work great and are very common.

I was just at French Creek this past weekend and dropped off my trackable "TRAVELING TENT PEG" in the CanvasCampers geo cache.
