I'm sure that some of you have some great walking sticks. Made, bought, found, doesn't matter. This is where you show them.
After seeing 2 that Larry (MissNanc's DH) made, I was motivated to finish carving mine. It had sat in the shed for 14 years and gathered dust, but I finished carving the snake. Nothing fancy and won't win any prizes, but I carved it.

DH won a beautiful walking stick at the Southeast Fall Rally, carved by Larry. DH loves that stick. We've been trying to find medallions for it, but I'll tell you-they are hard to come by these days.
Jarhead, your walking stick is a beauty. Is that a leather wrap, or did you carve the swirl? Either way, I just love it!
For some reason, the Toyota Tundra ad kept popping into my "reply/post" window here on my phone this weekend, so I had no way to tell you that the Nature Center gift shop at Fall Creek Falls has the walking stick medallions in case anyone is headed there. FYI: The conference center gift shop had none.
I don't have any pics but about 10 years ago at a state park near by they had an outdoor expo weekend. Lots of crafts and events for the kids. They had set up a walking stick booth where our kids got to make their own walking sticks. They had feathers, beads, leather strapping, etc. They weren't as fancy as the ones shown above but the kids had a blast doing it.
I think it would be a good camping activity for families. Pick up some leather pieces, beads, glue etc at a craft store and the kids could find their own sticks, rocks, feathers etc to make their custom walking stick.
